Get Sales from Travis County — Austin Small Biz Meetup
August 20, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pmFree
How Travis County Can Help You Grow Your Business.
Our two guests have a lot to share about working with the county. If you are not certified as a HUB (Historically Underutilized Business), now may be the time because of all the goods and services Travis County purchases. If you are a HUB already, you will want to hear what your current and future sales opportunities are. Then, there’s the bond that passed in November 2017, more opportunities for you — $189 million dollars of opportunities. Definitely, worth a lunch and an hour of your time! Be sure to bring cards of information about your business to share with our speakers and other guests.
Meet our presenters:
David Greear, Bond Program Project Manager, and Jerome Guerrero, HUB Program Specialis
- Mr. Greear is the Assistant Public Works Director and manages the CIP division for Transportation and Natural Resources of Travis County. He manages in-house project managers and the inspection staff as well as contracts with the General Engineering Consultant and Program Management Consultants associated with the 2017 Bond Projects.
- Jerome Guerrero is a HUB Program Specialist with the Travis County Purchasing Office HUB Program. He started his business experience with his family business, L.O. Guerrero Produce, Co., Inc. He later started his own business in the visual arts area. After freelancing for 6 years, he returned to the public sector with the HUB Program at Travis County. One of his goals today is to bridge the private and public sector worlds. He brings you his knowledge, skills, and experience from “both sides of the fence.” Today, he will instruct you on how to approach opportunities within the county and other government areas.
We will start right at noon and end at 1PM so please be on time. Come early if you want to eat and sit with our speakers. Bring cards to share and be prepared to share a recent success! The meeting is free but please be prepared to spend at least $10 to defray the cost of the room.
This is a program of the Austin Small Biz Success Meetup and the Business Success Center but everyone is welcome.
Host: Jan Triplett, Ph.D., CEO, Business Success Center and author/speaker on the 100+ Ways to Fund a Business.
